About InBody

We are InBody, a worldwide leader in body composition technology.

In the early 1990s, founder and CEO, Dr. Kichul Cha, recognized that the available BIA devices were limited and faulty. They were often inaccurate, and from a medical standpoint, useless for treating patients who needed body composition analysis the most. Drawing from his background in mechanical engineering, he set to work to design something better.

In 1996, he founded InBody. Two years later, the first InBody device was born. Today, InBody has grown from a small biotech startup in South Korea to a multinational corporation with branches and distributors in more than 80 countries. Our clients trust us to provide precise, useful, and accurate body composition data to their users because they know that InBody combines convenience, accuracy, and reproducibility into one easy-to-use device.

Established Biospace Co., Ltd.
Successfully commercialized the world's first body composition analyzer by launching InBody2.0

2000

InBody established its first overseas subsidiary in Beverly Hills, California and Japan.
InBody technology is FDA approved and results have been validated by research.

2013

The InBody 570, capable of measuring segmental fat analysis including visceral fat level, is released.

2014

The InBody 770, a new research-grade body composition analyzer is launched.
The InBody 570 wins the Red Dot Design Award.

2015

iF DESIGN AWARD is given to the InBody 770.
InBody receives the 2015 Foreign Direct Investment Award from the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce during World Trade Week.

2016

Established Subsidiary office in Malaysia (InBody Asia) & India (InBody India)
Lookin’BodyWeb, a cloud-based data software is launched.
The InBody 270, designed specifically for professionals who need to analyze body composition on-the-go, goes on sale.

2018

InBody Sphygmomanometer 'BPBIO320' passed the clinical test of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) for the first time in Korea

2019

Established a subsidiary office in Mexico
